Kids at the Wedding

Hi friends and family with kids!

Our previous child policy was not as inclusive of kids as we have decided we would like to be. Please see the bolded changes in our updated policy below. If anyone wants to change their RSVP due to these updates, please let me know ASAP.

As we count down the final few weeks until our wedding, we wanted to share in advance the plan for kids and the venue’s policies for the day of the wedding (August 3rd) only.

The Holly Farm is a large, sprawling, private property that has a lot of unique and beautiful features, but also a lot of places that can be great for hiding, wandering, and potential trouble for little ones that are not under watchful eyes. Because of this and the desire to keep everyone safe and having the best possible time, The Holly Farm requires that all kids under 10 be with a babysitter if not being consistently supervised. Therefore, we are providing wonderful, attentive, and entertaining sitters for kids of all ages through a well-established event sitting company called Art on Wheels Monterey.

All the sitters are professional, background-checked, First Aid/CPR-certified, and specialize in event sitting. They also provide a number of great activities, games and projects that are age-appropriate for kids, so that we can ensure there is fun for all of our guests, including kids.

We will be providing childcare between the hours of 2:30 to 9:00 pm on the wedding day so that you are really able to enjoy the full wedding day, but can still check in on your kids whenever you would like to. Please note that no childcare will be provided during Friday's Welcome Dinner or Sunday's brunch, and your supervised children are welcome to attend those events.

We understand that some of you will want to keep your children with you, and we are asking that you let us know if your child will be present with you at the dinner hour and needs a seat or a highchair at the table, or if you will utilize the sitters and they will eat the child-friendly meal with the other kids. Please email me this information at heidi@denenholz.com no later than WEDNESDAY, 7/17, at 8 pm. You are also more than welcome to take advantage of having your children looked after for the entire 6 and a half hour period that the sitters will be present! Since the wedding ceremony will start promptly at 3 pm, we recommend arriving at 2:30 pm to help with any transitioning of care over to the sitters for the ceremony.

That being said, we would appreciate your understanding and support in adhering to the venue’s policies by either utilizing the sitters or being vigilant with your children. Their safety and enjoyment is really important to us, as is yours. We want you to be able to relax and enjoy while knowing your kids are safe, cared for and having fun!
