Travel
While Monterey Airport is the most convenient, it is also the most expensive.
San Jose Airport is likely the best option for most travelers.

If you are flying into and/or out of San Francisco Airport or San Jose Airport and are not renting a car, we highly recommend booking shuttle rides with Monterey Airbus to get you to and from the Monterey/Carmel area. Super reasonable rates; with pickup and drop-off available at both airports. You can book online or call (831) 373-7777.
MONTEREY AIRPORT
The most convenient airport to fly into is Monterey MRY; which is just a 10 minute drive to downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea or a 15-20 minute drive to the Carmel Valley. Direct flights and connections are available from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Phoenix and Las Vegas.
SAN JOSE AIRPORT
The best option for a larger airport is San Jose SJC. The drive to Carmel from San Jose airport is about 1 hour & 15 minutes. From the airport, take 101 South to Exit 330. Follow CA 68W about 20 miles right into Carmel Valley.
SAN FRANCISCO AIRPORT
Carmel is roughly 110 miles (just over 2 hours) south of San Francisco airport SFO. From the airport, take 101 South to Exit 330. Follow CA 68W about 20 miles right into Carmel Valley.
